Climate crisis is a planetary crisis. As our greenhouse gas emissions level continues to rise; record temperatures broken daily; global nation states continue to fail us. 1.5 degree is inevitable. We are past mitigation. Climate intervention at the planetary scale maybe our only hope.

In this project, we investigated planetary scaled energy systems powering the climate remediation efforts, and explored their design consequences through speculative fictions. Supported by a team of scientists and film makers, we tried to work with the latest science and technologies, envision their future deployments, and speculate on what it means for us to be living in those times.

In the lineage of climate fictions, we played out these thought experiments and world-build from the macro to the micro. Through these fictions, we tried to embrace the blue sky thinking, rally the possibilities of these emerging technologies, and view geoengineering as an optimistic and hopeful challenge; its outcome, if successful, something worth fighting for.
